Series

FC x MCA

Hot on the heels of last summer’s successful concert series, Future Classic and the MCA have combined forces once again to present FCxMCA Summer Sunday Sessions – an immersion of contemporary art, music and good times in the spectacular surrounds of the MCA Sculpture Terrace, from 5pm on selected Sundays throughout summer.

Nodding to international events of a similar nature – including MoMA PS1’s Warm Up sessions in New York City, where Future Classic have curated a sell-out show this month – FCxMCA is creating a much-welcomed space in the Sydney landscape to celebrate the intersection between music and contemporary art.

The MCA Café will stay open until late for refreshing drinks, cocktails and light summer fare. The MCA will also extend its opening hours especially for FCxMCA punters to explore the MCA Collection, which will be open for the first hour of the event.

Featuring artworks across all art forms, the MCA Collection includes a significant representation of works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. DJs performing the event are also invited to respond to the Collection in a collaboration housed on the MCA’s app. Details of this will be announced in early 2016.
