Blog – Why the face?

MCA Chairman Simon Mordant on the cover of The Sun-Herald dated 1 April 2012.

For those of you that are wondering about the badge that our Chairman, Simon Mordant, wears on the cover of The Sun-Herald, it represents Aleks Danko’s Incident-Ambivalence that is part of Volume One: MCA Collection curated by the MCA’s Glenn Barkley. The original work can be found in the Museum’s Level 2 Galleries next to Stephen Birch’s Spiderman.

To find out more about the work, you can download MCA Insight or go to the online Collection.

The image also appears on the cover of the Volume One: MCA Collection catalogue, available for purchase at the online MCA Store. If you walk past the MCA’s George Street entrance, you will see dozens of these faces staring at you through the windows of the MCA Store, courtesy of the team`s merchandising skills.

So why the face?

Well, to quote Glenn Barkley, it’s cool.
