MCA Youth Connectors

The Museum of Contemporary Art is seeking young people aged 12–18 years to be 2012 MCA Youth Connectors

Passionate about art and culture? Love spreading the word about awesome art events? Well connected in your school and social circle? Want to work alongside artists and art professionals to think up and put on mind-blowing creative events for your friends and peers?

If you answered ‘absolutely!’ then you could be a great MCA Youth Connector…

Position outline

MCA Youth Connectors are the MCA’s official spokespeople aged between 12–18 years. They perform an important role in their social circles and schools, assisting the MCA to spread the word about its youth programs, in particular, the generationext program.

Youth Connectors take charge of making sure that the MCA’s youth programs are:

  • Featured in school e-newsletters
  • On school assembly agendas
  • On school radio
  • Posted on Facebook (connectors coordinate each generationext Facebook event)
  • And that their school is stocked up with flyers about upcoming events

Connectors also attend three Youth Committee meetings per year, and work with MCA Youth Committee Members to design and coordinate events at the MCA.

How to apply

To apply, first read all information in the Youth Connector Essential Information pack and make sure you can attend all of the compulsory meeting and event dates. Then complete the application and permission forms and return it to the Youth and Programs Coordinator, nicole.austin@mca.com.au
