In 2002 Anish Kapoor completed his extraordinary sculpture Marsyas for The Unilever Series of commissions in the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern, London. This film follows the making of Marsyas, from the earliest maquettes to the complex installation at Tate. Anish Kapoor comments on each stage of the process, and on the ideas and concerns of his art. Also illustrated are a range of his other sculptures and two recent large-scale works: Sky Mirror and Taratantara.

The BBC documentary follows Anish Kapoor as he becomes the first living British artist to have a solo show occupying the entire Royal Academy gallery. His response is a series of audacious installations.
With exclusive access to his studio, Alan Yentob follows him through a period of intense productivity. Kapoor talks candidly about his childhood in India, his early years as an artist and his creative process.

Anish Kapoor has recently completed one of his most compelling and thematically resonating works for a private collection based in New Zealand. Titled Dismemberment Site 1, the work has a powerful connection to the land, representing a dynamic continuum in Kapoor’s exploration of space and arcane mythologies. The sculpture is located on the Gibbs’ sculpture park in the Kaipara Harbour, on the north west coast of New Zealand.
